Robert Wayne Adamich

Robert (Bob) Wayne Adamich, 83, died early Friday morning, June 9, 2017, at the Coming Home Hospice facility in San Francisco, CA, following a brief battle with cancer.
Bob was born on January 27, 1934, in Pueblo, CO. After graduating from Pueblo Central High School in 1951, Bob entered the Navy; and served on an aircraft carrier during the Korean War. After his discharge Bob remained in CA, and took a job as an Optical technician in San Leandro, CA. After a few years Bob went to work for Jenkel-Davidson, an optical store in Redwood City, CA; and eventually opened his own optical store in Redwood City in 1975. Bob took great pride in his work, and served the Redwood City community for nearly forty years. Bob retired in 2003, and moved to San Francisco. He loved the Bay Area and all of the diversity and cultures represented in the city.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie and Frank Adamich; and sisters, Opal Curtis and Frankie Nightingale. He is survived five nieces and nephews, Jill Jacobson, Jack Nightingale, Penny Newman, Muriel Horn and Randall Curtis; and cousins, Joyce Scott, Clara Hoover and John Platt. Bob also had many close and caring friends whose lives he affected deeply, and to whom he was referred to affectionately as "Uncle Bob".
Bob will be remembered by his family and friends as an honorable and good man. He will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, generosity and unique sense of humor.
